New MA Beer Distributor
Homegrown Distribution, a new distribution company spun off from Massachusetts Beverage Alliance, will begin operations on October 1. The spinoff will handle distribution for brands including Brewmaster Jack, Grimm, Captain Lawrence, Slumbrew, Lone Pine, Foley Brothers, King’s Highway Fine Cider, and Vermont Craft Mead in Massachusetts. Homegrown will also distribute beers from beyond the Northeast, like Almanac, Brauhaus Riegele, Coronado, DC Brau, and others, from time to time. The new distribution company is based out of Massachusetts Beverage Alliance’s 40,000-square-foot facility in Bellingham, Massachusetts.

New Craft Beer
Beam Suntory’s Knob Creek Bourbon brand has partnered with New Belgium Brewing on a new limited edition beer. Oakspire Bourbon Barrel Ale features a base of New Belgium high rye ale that’s aged with Knob Creek Bourbon-soaked oak spirals and barrel char in a proprietary steel, missile-shaped vessel created by New Belgium engineers. The 9% abv brew is currently available nationwide for a limited time, both in 12-ounce bottles and on draft. Knob Creek surpassed 400,000 cases in the U.S. last year on growth of 8%.
