Trinchero Acquires Fetzer’s Five Rivers Winery
Trinchero Family Estates (TFE) has acquired Paso Robles, California-based Five Rivers Winery from Fetzer Vineyards for an undisclosed sum. The purchase includes Five Rivers’ 90,000-square-foot winemaking facility, as well as 46 acres of land, of which 15 acres are planted to Petite Sirah. TFE plans to update the Five Rivers facility and add white wine production to the site. TFE says the move furthers its ongoing effort to boost its premium and super-premium wine business, while expanding its presence on the Central Coast.
In a statement to SND, Fetzer Vineyards COO Cindy DeVries said, “The Five Rivers brand will continue to be produced following sale of the Central Coast winery to Trinchero, with production relocating to our Hopland, California-based winery.”
