New Bud Light
Anheuser-Busch InBev has announced that it will launch Bud Light Hard Seltzer in the first quarter of next year, marking the brand’s entry into the burgeoning category. The 5% abv seltzers will come in at 100 calories, 2 grams of carbs, and less than 1 gram of sugar per 12-ounce serving. The initial launch will include four flavors—Black Cherry, Lemon Lime, Strawberry, and Mango—available in individual flavor 12-packs, a variety 12-pack, and in 25-ounce single cans. The company is debuting Bud Light Hard Seltzer amid a challenging period for macrobrews. For the first nine months of 2019, Anheuser-Busch InBev’s North America volume dropped by 2.4% to 82.6 million hectoliters, but revenues inched forward 0.7% to $11.9 billion.

The Rock Has Tequila
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is prepping a Tequila launch for the new year. Bacardi-owned Angel’s Envy has announced the November rollout of its yearly cask strength release. This year’s expression comes in at 61.2% abv, and the bottling was chosen from select barrels of Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels. Just over 14,000 bottles will be available in 26 markets across the U.S. at a suggested price of $200 a 750-ml. bottle. Last year, Angel’s Envy was up 9.3% to 82,000 cases according to Impact Databank.
