New Vegan Wine Line
Aventura, Florida-based importer Enovation Brands is launching Vegania, a line of vegan wines. The winemaking process for Vegania eschews the use of animal products, substituting vegan alternatives where necessary. Each bottle carries a seal certifying its vegan status. The new label initially offers a Pinot Grigio and a red blend of Frappato and Syrah, both from Sicily and retailing at $13 a bottle. The Enovation Brands portfolio also includes Impact “Hot Prospect” Gemma di Luna, which rose 22% to 85,000 cases last year.

Dogfish Head is introducing American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA. Inspired by The Grateful Dead’s album of the same name, American Beauty Hazy Ripple is a 7% abv IPA brewed with spelt. Delaware-based Dogfish Head was acquired by Boston Beer earlier this year for $300 million.

The Rock Has Tequila
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is prepping a Tequila launch for the new year. Johnson’s Teremana Tequila label, founded in partnership with drinks industry veteran Ken Austin, is slated to debut in early 2020. Johnson noted in an Instagram post that Teremana would be a “small-batch, hand-crafted Tequila.” A brand representative declined to provide further detail. Previously, Austin worked with the Productos Finos de Agave S.A. distillery to launch the Avión label, which Pernod Ricard eventually acquired in a two-part deal reportedly worth more than $100 million. Along with mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor, Austin is also a co-founder of the Proper No. Twelve Irish whiskey brand, which is distributed by Proximo Spirits.
