Bonterra Organic Estates Launches Lo And Behold, A New Low-Calorie Wine
Viña Concha y Toro-owned Bonterra Organic Estates is entering the rising low-calorie wine segment with a new label under its Fetzer brand, Lo and Behold. The new entry debuts with a Sauvignon Blanc that carries an abv of 8% and has 80 calories a serving. Lo and Behold retails at $9 a 750-ml. bottle. According to Impact Databank, low-calorie wines grew by strong double-digits last year and are expected to easily surpass three million cases in the U.S. by year-end.
“Fetzer’s new Lo and Behold Sauvignon Blanc embraces conscious consumption,” says Rodrigo Maturana, senior vice president of marketing for Bonterra Organic Estates. “With Lo and Behold, we’re excited to offer a product that aligns with a balanced, wellness-oriented lifestyle.” Bonterra Organic Estates had U.S. volume of 3.2 million cases last year, according to Impact Databank, with brands including Bonterra, Casillero del Diablo, Fetzer, Trivento, 1000 Stories, Cono Sur, and others.

Twisted Tea is launching a higher-alcohol variant called Twisted Tea Extreme. The spinoff is at 8% abv instead of the usual 5% abv. As with other Twisted Teas, it’s made with brewed tea and not carbonated. Twisted Tea Extreme is launching in two flavors, Lemon and Blue Razz, packaged in single 24-ounce cans. It’s rolling out now across five test markets: New York, Montana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Twisted Tea is part of the Boston Beer Company. It earned Impact “Hot Brand” honors for its 2022 performance after jumping 27% to 33 million (2.25-gallon) cases.

Delicato Family Wines is debuting the latest collaboration between Gnarly Head and American icons the Grateful Dead. The two limited edition wines—an Old Vine Zinfandel and a Cabernet Sauvignon—are both from the 2021 vintage and carry a $12 suggested retail price.
