Sonoma’s Rodney Strong is launching a new Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The “Fumé-style” limited offering retails at $24 and was aged 54% in 400-liter French Oak barrels—most of which were new oak—45% in stainless steel, and the final 1% in a ceramic egg. Noting that “the California Sauvignon Blanc segment is continuously growing,” Rodney Strong vice president of marketing Erica Odden said the new bottling is catering to consumer demand.
