Coca-Cola Partners With Molson Coors For Hard Seltzer Rollout

Coca-Cola has aligned with Molson Coors to bring its Topo Chico hard seltzer label to the U.S. Under the agreement, Molson Coors will manufacture, market, and distribute Topo Chico hard seltzer in the U.S. The brand is slated to launch next year.

Molson Coors CEO Gavin Hattersley said the move builds upon Molson Coors’s “successful launches of Vizzy and Coors Seltzer earlier this year,” calling it a “significant step in growing our above-premium portfolio and becoming a major competitor in the rapidly-growing hard seltzer segment.”

Topo Chico hard seltzer will debut in four flavors: Tangy Lemon Lime, Exotic Pineapple, Strawberry Guava, and Tropical Mango, distributed in variety 12-packs of slim cans. The upcoming entry blends purified sparkling water, a gluten-free alcohol base and natural flavors, with minerals added for taste, and is inspired by Topo Chico sparkling mineral water, a 125-year-old brand popular in Latin America and Texas that Coca-Cola acquired in 2017 for $250 million.
