Josh Cellars Extends With Seaswept, A New White Blend
Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is extending the Josh Cellars portfolio with Seaswept, a new blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. With a relatively low alcohol content of 11.5%, it’s made with grapes from the cooler growing regions of California and retails at $16 a bottle. Seaswept has begun to roll out nationally, with full distribution expected this spring and summer.
According to Impact Databank, the total Josh Cellars portfolio—including offshoots like its Reserve and Prosecco—neared 6 million cases in the U.S. last year. Already a juggernaut within the wine category, the brand has seen a further boost in visibility lately after going viral across social media channels late last year into this year. Josh has also gained momentum from its Hearth extension, a higher-abv Cabernet Sauvignon that debuted last year and has become a key growth driver for the portfolio.

Musicians Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have entered the RTD market with Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop. The 5.9% abv canned cocktails are available in four flavors—Citrus, Melon, Passionfruit, and Apricot—all packaged in 12-ounce cans. The new company is led by the founders of On the Rocks Cocktails, which is now part of the Beam Suntory portfolio: Patrick Halbert, Andrew Gill, and Rocco Milano. New Sokol Blosser
Dundee Hills, Oregon’s Sokol Blosser Winery has launched a pair of new aperitif wines. The aperitifs—one red, one white—are made from brandy distilled from unsold wines in Sokol Blosser’s Evolution line and macerated with botanicals like honeydew melon, citrus peel, and pomegranate seeds for the white and local cherries, marshmallow root, and Ceylon tea for the red. The white is at 16% abv and the red is at 16.5% abv and both are now available for $25 a 375-ml. bottle through the winery’s website and in their tasting room.
